Indian Railway News: Railway Board cancelled the operation of all passenger trains till 30 June. Now no reservation will be made in any trains. However, Shramik Special trains for migrant workers will continue to run as before. As well as 15 pairs of AC Special trains will continue to operate. Passengers who had already booked the reservation ticket will get a refund from IRCTC.
Preparations for Lockdown 4.0 have been started in the country. For this, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday held a meeting with officials before announcing the guidelines for 4.0 Lockdown. The country is moving towards the fourth lock down due to the threat of Corona virus. Lockdown 4.0 is to come into effect from Monday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi already indicated about Lockdown 4.0
On Wednesday night, the Railway Board has announced the commencement of waiting tickets in some special trains running. This facility is available on the booking of tickets from 15 May. However, the Railways has not yet cleared that in which trains will be able to book these tickets. Many new rules implemented for these waiting list tickets.
Meanwhile, if a passenger have signs of corona before the trip, then he will not be allowed to travel. After which the fare will be refunded for the ticket taken by them. During the journey, passengers have to follow social distancing.
If migrant workers are found walking on the streets, they should be taken to a nearby shelter home and the responsibility of their food and water will rest with the state governments. It will be the responsibility of the states to facilitate the movement of stranded migrant workers who are willing to go to their home states. The government has introduced shramik special trains for migrant workers.
